Go Pirates!

Today was Fox's first game of the new baseball season. Even though it was Fox's day, Jayde had to get in on the action. So of course she was our little helper trying to put Fox's b-ball shoe on. Fox has improved significantly from the last season which was only less than 6 months ago. I mean, at least he can run the bases now. And he actually tries to field the ball. What can I say, I am a proud mom. So here are some of the 180 or so pictures I took today.

Founders Day Parade

I am a little slow at posting this since it was last Saturday, but better late than never. Last week we took the kids to their first ever parade. We are not big parade goers, but after the fun they had, I guess we better buck it up and start going to parades. The only reason we ended up going this time was because Fox was in the parade with his baseball team.

This season his cousin and best buddy Boston gets to play with him on his team. Fox is thrilled. They have so much fun together. They really enjoyed throwing candy to all the people watching the parade.

Of course, Shawn is also one of the coaches for Fox's team again this season. So he was in the parade with them too.

Jayde had a blast picking up all the candy that was thrown to her. She even started walking up the street to pick up candy that was in front of other people.

I had no idea we would come home with a full bag of candy. I know it has been awhile since I have been to a parade, but I don't remember that much candy ever at a parade before. And as if what they were throwing wasn't enough, Jayde even had people setting piles of candy right in front of her so that she could put it in her bag easier.

So thanks to the parade we now have a big bowl of candy ready to give out for Halloween. That is what I call SWEET!!!

New York City

Shawn and I just spent the last Monday, Tuesday, and Wednsday living it up in New York City. Since our 6th anniversary was a couple weeks ago, we decided to treat ourselves to a New York get-a-way. Thanks to my parents for flying out here to watch Fox and Jayde, we were able to go and have a great time. We flew in Monday morning and as we walked off the airplane into the terminal, Shawn saw Jerome Bettis, a retired Pittsburgh Steelers Running Back, who is also one of the best all-time running backs in the NFL. The Steelers is Shawn's favorite football team, so you better believe he looked like a kid at Christmas time.

So we were off to a great start. We tried a lot of new places to eat this trip, some were good, some not so much. However, we did go to Lombardi's pizza, which is known as America's first pizzaria. Good place. Of course we did a lot of shopping and saw the sites.

One of the most fun things for me to do when we are in NYC is ride the Subway. I am always amazed at the whole new world the Subway system brings. The city itself is amazing, but add the Subway system and I think of it as a city underneath a city. I LOVE IT!!!

We went to 3 broadway plays this trip. Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, and Mamma Mia. They were all SO good. I love going to broadway plays. If you don't have small children with you, then you can't leave NYC without seeing at least one show.

After we got out of The Lion King, we were walking to get on the Subway and ran into a crowd. Come to find out Daniel Radcliff, the kid who plays Harry Potter in the movies, was there getting into his vehicle. I don't know if he was coming out of a play or what, but he was signing autographs and he looked like a deer caught in head lights. So we thought we would join in wth the paparazzi. We didn't get a very good picture though, so if you are wondering exactly who he is click here to see a better picture.

We love NYC. There are so many interesting people to see there, from the beggers in the Subways who come in many different forms, to the famous people you might catch a glimpse of on the streets. There is never a dull moment when you go there. We can't wait to go back.

More Braves

Last night we went to a Brave's game and met Shawn's cousin Paul and his family, Eliza and Peter there. We had a fun time watching the game and eating goodies all night long. I think that our family is the Royal Family of eating goodies till your sick family. Fox and Jayde, had a really good time playing and having fun, but I think the best part was that this little guy, Peter, adopted Shawn as his new best friend. He had to sit on Shawn's lap quite a bit and would just look up at him and smile. As you can see, he has cute little smile. How could Shawn resist?

So last night was bobble head night and we got 4 bobble heads, not that we needed that many, but we got them. Well we put 2 of them in our little umbrella stroller and left the stroller at the entrance to where our seats were. Some time in the last 2 innings somebody decided to steal one of the bobble heads right out of our stroller. For all they know, they could have been stealing from a little kid. Not that it will be missed, but who does that?

A Little Laugh Today

So today I have been trying to figure some stuff out on my blog and have not been successfull. All the while I am doing that, Fox, my little 3 yr old, was trying to play games on his computer. He is getting pretty good. Shawn has put a few shortcuts on there so that he can just open it up and click on the links Shawn showed him. So he was getting all upset that his computer wasn't working for him today and I look over and it has something on there that was getting in his way and he said to me, all upset, "my 'puter needs a dot com". I said, "What does it need?" He said, "A dot com, it needs a dot com" pointing to it all seriously. That is right my kid is a genius. He knows how to fix a computer already. I just had to laugh at that one. It is good to laugh and I am glad I had Fox around to lighten my frustration.

Family Time

Lately I have been wondering why I like living here in Georgia as much as I do. I really don't like being so far away from the majority of our family members, and as much as I would welcome the idea of moving back to Utah, I don't think I would be ready for it yet. It is really strange because I pretty much don't have any friends here. Though I like having friends, making friends doesn't come easy for me. So as I have been thinking about all of this lately I have completely come to the conclusion, not that it was much of a mystery to me, that it is all because of my family. I love my little Fox and Jayde so much. They are the highlight of my life. They keep me going everyday. Even though they make me mad plenty, they keep me laughing and loving life so much more. The main highlight of my life is Shawn. He is the foundation to all the happiness I have in my life. I am extremely grateful for the life I share with him. We have so much fun together. We like the same things, we think the same (when it matters), we communicate well, and we respect one another. What more could I ask for. He is my best friend. Our 6th anniversary was on Friday, and what a good six years it has been. I hope he knows how much I love him.

We really have a lot of fun together as a family. One thing that has added to the fun in our lives is our purchase of a golf cart. I know that sounds funny to most people, and it still does to me, but we live in a place that golf carts are a normal way of transportation. Our little town in Georgia is Tyrone and we border a place called Peachtree City. Peachtree City brings a whole new meaning to golf carts. It has over 90 miles of golf cart paths. So you can get anywhere you need to go pretty much. One thing we like to do is go for rides and we find "playgrounds" for the kids to play on. Sometimes we pack a lunch and go for a picnic, other times we go to the grocery store or Target, but most of all we just drive around. It is a beautiful place we live in.

Right across the street from our house is a golf cart path that basically connects us to the Peachtree City paths. There they go up the path.

On labor day we went back to the Six Flags water park and we had a lot of fun. The kid area there is great. I even went down a slide after Jayde. Well, I kept on sliding when I thought I would stop and I ran right into Shawn, who was holding Jayde, and took him out like a bowling pin. Thank heavens they didn't get hurt. It was pretty funny though I have to say. I don't have any pictures though. The last time I took a camera out of the house I dropped it in a cup of Diet Coke, so I don't trust myself taking one any where near water. So we had a good weekend. I like the long weekends, it is just too bad they have to come to an end.

Chuck E Cheese Please!!!

Once upon a lifetime ago, I remember the thrill and excitement I got when we were so lucky to get to go to Chuck E Cheese's. Growing up in Utah we didn't get to go to them very often because, as far as I know, they don't exist there. It seemed like a once in a lifetime chance to be able to go when we went on vacation to California. At least that is what I remember. Well those days are long gone for me, but it is just the beginning for our little ones. Lucky for them we live just 20 minutes away from one, maybe a little unlucky for me and Shawn. No, actually I don't mind. I love to see my kids having fun. What parent doesn't right. Last Friday we went for my neice Brytin's birthday. All the kids had such a great time. We got a few good shots of the kids in action.

Jayde doesn't care that she can barely see. She was just having so much fun.
