Jayde Is Just About Potty Trained ( I Hope)!!!

I wasn't going to start potty training Jayde until after our Easter trip, but she decided to start going on the potty on March 30th. Since she decided to actually use the potty and I already had a treat bag for her, I decided there's no time like the present. So she had been doing really good until we came home from our trip and decided to pee all over the house.
Well I had decided to give Jayde and Fox (because Fox can't be left out) a treat everytime she went on the potty, but since that stopped working, I decided to give Jayde a treat only when she went potty, Fox a treat when he went potty, and me a treat when I went potty (you get the picture). That did the trick (so far). Anytime Fox needed to go, she threw a fit and said she had to go (because SHE can't be left out). You see the trick there! Since I started doing that, she pretty much has only had about 2 or 3 accidents in the last week, in the pee department anyways. Going #2 is a different story though.
Fox seemed to be a lot easier to potty train than Jayde has been. It is probably because I am huge and pregnant and tired physically and dealing with both Fox and Jayde all day instead of just Fox while Jayde was only a few months old (they couldn't fight when she was an infant). My goal is to have her totally potty trained by the time I have this baby. Cross your fingers for me!

Easter!!!

This year we went with a group of friends up to a cabin near Pigeon Forge, TN. We had a great time playing games and hanging out with our friends during the evenings. During the days we went down into Pigeon Forge and the surrounding towns and had some fun. Friday we went miniature golfing with Kevin's family.

Most of the time it was total chaos, but the kids had fun.
Saturday we went to some caverns. This picture is taken just before Jayde made me fall forward and charge like a bull into somebody's back side. Good thing he was there or I would have fallen on my belly. I am a little heavy in the front these days and Jayde sitting on my leg made me lose my balance completely. It was a little embarrassing.

After the caverns, Fox had a blast riding on a go cart with Shawn. He had been excited all day to ride one and wanted to go again.

Since Jayde was not old enough for the go carts, we found some other little rides for her. In this picture she is riding on a balloon ride that spins. I think she is getting a little dizzy in this picture.

Fox and Jayde on a little tea cup ride.

Later at the cabin all the kids got to go on an easter egg hunt. Here is Fox excited about finding so many eggs.
In the morning the Easter Bunny came to our room. Jayde is showing off some of her things she got.

We had a lot of fun.

Twinkle Twinkle ABC!

I just thought this was pretty cute. Jayde can sing the ABC song and I was trying to get her to sing if for the camera. Well, she decided to do her own thing...

Fox!

I took Fox in to his 4 year annual check up on February 20. He had to have a vision, teeth, and hearing test done in case he got picked to go to school for the Georgia Pre-K program. (Which he pretty much won't be picked because we are not in the right school district.) Well he didn't pass the hearing test in his left ear. It is a test where you have to raise your hand if you hear the beeps. They told me I needed to take him to a specialist to get checked.

So I called Shawn and told him Fox couldn't hear the beeps in his left ear and in the back ground Fox says, "I heard it mom." I asked if he heard in both ears and he said he did. I asked why he didn't raise his hand and let the doctor know, and he just said he didn't know. When I set up the appointment with the Children's Health Care of Atlanta, I found out he had to be sedated for the test, which I was not excited about. So today I went back to his regular doctor and had him checked again. I am really glad I did because he heard all the beeps in both ears.

So I am happy to say that I don't have to drive into Atlanta to have my little boy sedated for a test that I really thought he didn't need anyway.

Hawks!

I forgot to mention that we got to go to a Hawks game when we had our visitors with us last week. Fox had a lot of fun with us, but Jayde stayed home with grandma Vicki.

Visitors!

Last week we had Shawn's parents and Taylor and Jake come to visit us for a few days. We love having visitors. Fox and Jayde especially love to have visitors. As you can see they are as close to Taylor and Jake as they can get. They will hardly leave their side.

One of the days they were here, we got out our new kites for the first time and they all had a blast.

Jayde was pretty determined to fly her kite.

Fox was pretty good at keeping his kite flying high.

Even grandma Vicki had fun flying a kite.

Shawn thought he would help Jayde.

And of course Shawn had to take his parents on a golf cart ride on the infamous Peachtree City golf cart paths. One of the most fun things about living here.

We had a great time and can't wait for them to come back.

Our Snow Day!

It snowed Sunday for the second time in the 3 years that we have lived here. So of course, since we get so little snow, we had to take advantage of it while we can.
Fox and Jayde were excited to build a snowman.

Basically you have to play in the snow just when it is done snowing or even while it is snowing because by the next afternoon here it looks like......

this.
Ok so this was taken today, Wednesday, but by Monday afternoon it pretty much looked like this. You see all the snowmen that people built, but no snow around it.
