School in October

Fox has had quite the fun time at school.

October was a fun month. He loves school.

Halloween 2009

For weeks I have been hearing Jayde ask, "Can we go to Halloween? PLEASE?!!" Finally the day arrived and the kids were so excited. Unfortunately they had to wait ALL DAY LONG before they could 'Go To Halloween' as Jayde puts it.

Anticipating what would surely be an exciting adventure we got on the golf cart with Kevin, Tiffany, and Boston and we were off to go trick or treating. What a site it was to see Fox, Jayde and Boston running from door to door having such a good time. Fox ran so fast I thought he was going to run people over while Jayde was holding on to her hat hoping it wouldn't fall off. I wish I had a picture of that, but it was a little rainy that night so I didn't take the camera.

Jayde, what a little trooper she is. She was having so much fun. She tried so hard to keep up with Fox and Boston, but that was a little tricky as they are much faster than she is. I think she must have thought that we would leave her if she didn't get back to the golf cart as quickly as the boys did. As she was running back to us as fast as she could possibly run, she tripped and fell and did a face plant into the lawn. Shawn hurried to see if she was ok and the first thing she said to Shawn was, "Will you help me get my candy?" Never mind that she fell face first into the the wet grass, but is my candy all there?

Relieved that she is ok we went on our way. At the next house, down she went again. Still no crying came of it because all was well in the candy world. However, she didn't get up to the door in time for the person handing out candy to see her and the door got shut before she received her share of the goods. Now she started crying. Shawn had to help her up to the door.

After a few more falls and one lost shoe, everything started looking up. She stopped tripping and was very proud of herself for not falling as she let us know each time she got back to the golf cart. Then as we were driving to the next house, she dropped her candy bucket and the candy went everywhere on the dark road. That was a sad moment, but she got all her candy back and all was well in the candy world again.

It was nice having the golf cart. Dax sat on my lap and fell asleep while the kids had lots of fun getting their candy that I am going to have to hide pretty soon or I am going to go crazy.

Pigeon Forge

A couple of weekends ago we went to Pigeon Forge to see the pretty leaves. As we got to the top of the Smokies I could not believe it was snowing. I was not prepared for this, but it was beautiful. We had to get a family picture. Well, it is such a pretty place we had to get a lot of family pictures that trip. So here are a few.

We went with my brother Kevin's family and my parents.

Of course we had to ride the race cars, but only if Jayde was able to. Well, she barely made it, and she had a BLAST!!!

So did Fox. So did Shawn and I for that matter.
We live in such a beautiful country. This is out the window on our drive home.

Dax

Back on October 12th Dax decided to rollover two times in a row. Has he rolled over since? No! Could it be because he is gaining weight so fast that rolling over just is TOO DANG HARD? Possibly! At his 4 month check up, September 30th, he weighed in at 18lbs 3oz. About two weeks later he got his first ear infection on October 16th and when I took him in to the doctor he weighed 19lbs 3oz. Ten days after that, at his checkup to see if the ear infection cleared up, he weighed in at 20lbs 3.5oz. Each time all his clothes and diaper were off. As Shawn pointed out, if he keeps up this pace he is going to weigh at least 52lbs by the time he is a year. Regardless of that nonsense, my little chunky monkey is doing well and I love every little chunky part of him. He is so cuddly and loves his momma. He is quite the talker. He talks my ear off when nobody is around. He is so much fun.

Take a close look. Can you see the little drip of slobber? My little Dax is the slobberiest little guy I have ever seen.

On October 23rd Dax sat up all by himself for quite awhile. And when I mean sat up by himself, I mean he didn't just rest on his big belly. He actually played and caught himself from falling. He still falls most of the time, but he is well on his way to independence.

He is very proud of himself.

And just because he is a little cutie, I had to include this last picture. I love this bumbo seat. He sits on the counter with me while I clean the kitchen or cook dinner. He also likes to look at himself in the mirror when I get ready in the morning.

The Rock Ranch

It just might become a tradition. Last year we went to The Rock Ranch and liked it so much that we decided to go back again this year.

The Rock Ranch is a pumpkin patch with lots and lots of fun stuff to do. This year we went when there was a little craft show and the kids each got a marshmellow gun.


We went with our good friends the Hunters. Here they are with Shawn, Dax and Jayde on the back of this pedal car, bike thing.

Fox is now big enough to ride his own.

Of course we had to get the cow ride in.

One of the highlights is the corn box. The kids could spend hours in there if we let them. Who would have guessed that it is one of the favorite things to do at the ranch.

Here they are gearing up for the train ride that never happened. Just as we were waiting to go on our ride they found that the train wasn't working anymore.

Is it just me, or do I have some pretty tough kids?!! I know I am probably just a proud mom, especially to my cowboy friends, but check out Fox and Jayde. They both got on a mechanical bull and had fun. They got bucked off and everything. Fox even went for a second round.

They got to pick their own pumpkins.

It was so fun, we stayed until it was dark.

I need to catch up

I have been lagging behind on my posts lately. I don't know why, but I don't seem to find enough time to get on my computer. So I am going to try to get in a few make up posts. We went to a Braves game the first part of this month wondering why we even tried.

It started out great. Fox and Jayde were sitting in their seats snacking, Dax was happy, mom and dad were happy, and then the first inning got over. Dax was done in the second inning, Fox and Jayde were done in the third inning, and because of all this, Dad was done in the fourth inning. By the time the fifth inning came along I was kind of laughing to myself as I looked at Shawn and how miserable he seemed and said to him, do you want to go? We were out of there so fast it wasn't even funny. So that is it for the Braves this year.

Squirrel Entertainment

Saturday night started out with a few of us girls getting together for dinner. It is always nice to get out of the house and visit with my girlfriends. After dinner we went to the women's broadcast for conference at the church. Not many women were there, but we had quite the disruption, or what I would like to call entertainment. A squirrel got into the chapel and climbed up the curtain. Bro. Phillips tried to catch it with a long pole with a net on the end, but to no avail, the squirrel got away. Some thought it ran out of the chapel, but I believe it got uplifted and edified as it probably sat in it's own pew listening to all the talks given by our wonderful church leaders. I don't have the best video, but here is a glimps of the event.
